Cast Iron Straight Edges for Flatness and Alignment Inspection
A cast iron straight edge is a precision reference tool rather than an ordinary measuring ruler. It is used to check straightness and flatness on machine tables, beds, guideways and large machined surfaces. It can also be used during machinery setup, alignment and blue-matching or spotting operations in hand scraping.
Hanxin straight edges are available in I-section or parallel configurations. The castings are stress relieved for dimensional stability, and selected models are offered with hand-scraped, ground or machined working surfaces. Depending on the product, standard lengths extend from 500 mm to 4,000 mm, with other sizes available on request.
Right-Angle and Frame Squares for Perpendicularity Checks
Cast iron squares create a stable vertical reference from a known flat surface. They are used for checking workpiece squareness, aligning fixtures and verifying the perpendicular relationship between machine components. Hanxin offers right-angle squares, right-angle rulers, master frames and frame-type machine checking squares for different inspection layouts.
◆ Right-angle models use HT200, HT250 or HT300 cast iron and are available in Precision Grades 1 and 2.

◆ Standard right-angle square sizes shown in the range extend from 300 × 200 mm to 1,000 × 750 mm, while custom sizes and finer accuracy requirements can be discussed.
For checking multiple machine axes, a frame-type square or cast iron master frame is normally the more suitable choice. Its multiple working faces support geometric checks in more than one orientation, whereas a conventional right-angle square is better suited to a direct 90-degree reference between a base and an adjacent face.
